I love clocks both old and new. My love of chiming clocks came from the times when I was a little girl and my family would go to grandma and grandpap's house for a visit. They had an antique clock that had been in the family for a while and usually hung it in the hall. As a kid, I would have to sleep in the living room on an old army type cot. Though not the most comfortable thing to sleep on, I remember listening to the ticking rhythm of the clock until I fell asleep. I was always surprised that the loud chiming on the hour and half hour never woke me up.
The clock in the picture was found at a local thrift store, and though it does not keep time very well, it still gives me the comfort I felt at my grandparents house.

Things That Are Me - Family Heirlooms

This photo is of the baby dress, shoes and socks that my dad wore when he was a baby. They dressed boys in dresses way back then. The case was made about thirty years ago by my Grandpap so that my mom could display my dads childhood stuff. The case is unique because the top is hinged and flips up allowing the glass to be lifted up to get into the box.

Things That Are Me - Chickens

Yes, Chickens! Well the story is that I was a child in the 1960's and my dad and grandpap raised show chickens. Yes, we actually went to chicken shows. And yes, they won trophies. Anyway, chickens have always been apart of my life. This photo is of a Bantam chicken on wood that my Grandpap painted. I don't have a lot of stuff from him, but of what I have this has to be my favorite.
