Things That Are Me - Vintage Angle Tree Topper

This is a vintage antique tree topper that I found in a thrift store back in the early 1990's. I do not use it as a tree topper because the metal spiral is so small that it has never fit on the top of any of my trees. So instead I use it as a Christmas ornament. It is also reversible with a different blond angel with pink wings on the backside. I have tried researching it's age, but I have not come up with anything yet.

That's beautiful! Really lovely.

Much better than the paper angels, made out of toiletpaper rolls, my kids insist I use as a tree topper.

Hi Gypsiedream, I just saw on Martha Stewart's show the other day this ornament or similar. She was making her ornament (but of course darling)and she was talking about where she or anyone could get the materials that they were using to make this. She named the company it was out of Dresden (she had Heidi Klum with her) and she said of course you've heard of it, being from Germany. I "think" she said you could order the materials from either Druslings or Brushins dot com. Not sure of spelling but I do know that this antique one of yours has to be from Germany, or Dresden. You might beable to find the name of the manufacturer from MS's webpage and she should have a link there. I would then maybe send them an email and ask them if they could tell you where your's could be from and what era was the original shop around or whatever. Hope I helped you in some way. I couldn't believe it when I saw it because I had just seen the MS show. It is a beautiful ornament on it's own. I collect glass ornaments and have even got into buying Radco awhile back but then he started to get too commercial for my taste. I bet your tree is just beautiful... Deeanne

Deeanne, I looked up the show on Martha Stewart and watched the clip. The company's name that carried the paper material is Blümchen. Not ony do they have paper, they have beautiful ornaments and lots of old fashion craft supplies.
I took a closer look at the one I have and saw no name for a company. I imagine that at one time someone could have made it. The wings do not exactly match up back to back, in a way that maybe a child probably glued it. Thanks for telling me about the company. They have some very nice things.

Running Mommy,
Ah, but I do have a handmade angle that my mother made years ago, and yes, she used a toilet paper roll. Maybe I will post a picture of it here.

Beautiful ornament! Hope you find its identity! I personally do polymer clay ornaments (on my blog)-but these vintage ones are simply delightful!
